LOL EGYPT

Have you all been under a rock AGAIN? (kidding... or am I?)

I wanted to make a post about this yesterday but waited until another blogger did it. Buttttt since no one took the opportunity, I might as well inform you (what am I, the news?)about Egypt's hilarious 'precautionary measures' against the swine flu.

Now please note that Egypt has not yet had a case of the flu and the flu IS NOT IN THE MEAT. Although we don't eat it, the sale of pork is going down.

So what does Egypt do?

They slaughter all 300,000 pigs in the country.

-insert hilarious laughter in here until knocked unconscious-

You can't get it from the pigs!

But what I want to know is, I wonder where they put all that meat?

assalamualaikum, im just curious with your statement,'you cant get it from the pigs'. so are you saying that this pig or swine flu has nothing got to so with eating pork? i think it is already clear that pork contains so much'dirty stuffs'.. and Allah knows best about this. wassalam

Well....ever since I came here to Cairo my girlfriend advised me NOT to buy the fresh beef and only buy forzen chickens from Brazil (apparently the bird flu never left here) so all that pork just might end up in the ground beef... they wouldn't be the first ones to do it...

And they are a very SMART bunch, eh? ;)

I dont get why people think like that. Yes, pigs are unclean, but they are not forbidden to even live. They are actually good for cleaning up trash and scraps. Something that Egypt is in definite need of. Besides, that virus has all the characteristics of being something purposely created in a lab. A cruel experiment of sorts. Thats just my 2 cents.

i think it is a great idea to kill all that pigs on my point of view if this illness is comming from pigs and since we do not have a medecine to cure this flu so do not take any risks and kill them all and burn them all

but on another baby pigs are so cute and it hurts me to know that they burned all those little pigs

Melda & MARiiAM: Like the number of licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop, the world may never know...

mawaddah: Wa alaikum salam,
It's true. You can't get it from pigs. They actually changed the name of the flu to the H1N1 virus due to the floundering sales of pork. And yes pigs are unclean creatures but yes they have their own kind of flu, but the swine flu we're 'suffering' from is a strain of swine flu, a strain of bird flu, and a strain of human flu. So just handling a pig with swine flu won't get you sick.

Empress Anisa: It might end up in the beef?! I'd probably go vegetarian over there out of paranoia.

Stacy aka Fahiima:
I think piglets are so innocent , and cute, plus they do make great garbage disposals. Just not great meat.

Mona: Of course, lol

Flifla: Wa alaikum salam,
But sister, it's a creation of Allah swt. If Allah swt wanted us to extinct a certain species I don't think He would have created them. And the illness is not coming from pigs. It's a strain of swine, bird and human flu. A genetic hybrid that we're still trying to figure out. We don't even have a cure for the human flu, just a vaccine to 'prevent' it. That doesn't mean we should kill all humans now does it? A vaccine, insha'allah will be made, but as 40,000 humans die from regular flu every year, this flu isn't something to be blown out of proportions... yet.

Perplexin Texan: hahaha, as always.

i agree with u sister but in china and in some european country when they killed chiken and other suspect birds in a way to prevent the avian flu no one laught at them

and my comment seems to be totaly crual and sounds psychoooooooooo
as perplxin texas sister noticed it by a very funny bwahahhahhaa!!

but it is nonetheless a great idea considering the poor level of sanatary of the country and considering that the vaccine is not ready at the moment minimizing the risks is totaly rational
In a poor and very populated country as egypt

and the flu started because of pigs in mexico that's why media call it porcine flu

IT IS A NEW VIRUS so people are affraid, and we have a cure at least medics which can helps TAMIFLU but considering that this porcine flu have as u said strain of pigs, avian and human doctors are not 100% sure that TAMIFLU will helps to prevent the porcine flu

but almost each year flu is under a new presentation so each year we have to find new medics or at least new vaccine

"That doesn't mean we should kill all humans now does it?"
please wake up pigs are pigs and human being are human being it is not very revelant to make a comparison with this rhetorical question

now i need to go, my neighbor have a flu i need to handle the situation and to fix this now before it is too late
mouhahahahahahahahahahaha where is my chain saw ?

This is what a newspaper, okay Yahoo, had to say regarding their 'precautionary measure':

"Egypt, which has no swine flu cases, is the only country in the world to order a mass pig slaughter in response to the disease. The move mirrored Egypt's battle with bird flu, in which the government killed 25 million birds within weeks in 2006.
But international health officials said the swine flu virus that has caused worldwide fear is not transmitted by pigs, and that pig slaughters do nothing to stop its spread. The WHO on Thursday stopped using the term "swine flu" to avoid confusion.
"Killing (pigs) is not a solution, otherwise, we should kill the people, because the virus spreads through them," wrote Abdullah Kamal of the daily Rose El-Youssef. "The terrified members of parliament should have concentrated on asking the government first about the preventive measures and ways of confronting the problem.
"The problem is that the government here deals with things in emotional ways," said Essam el-Erian, a top Brotherhood leader. "It acts with the memory of what happened during the bird flu crisis." " Plus it's now called the H1N1 virus due to that

Alhamdulillah sister, you're entitled to your opinions and I got mine :D And I was trying to be sarcastic with the kill human question, didn't work I guess heh heh

Thank you for sharing your opinion with me and although Egypt DOES need to clean up it's country a bit better, I like to think they could do more with soap and water than with a machete and a couple of pigs.

Asalamu Alaikum!

Actully, u can get the swine flu from the influnza that infect pigs; source is Wikipedia!!!
Before u write somethig:RESEARCH!!!! I bet they married they buried/burned the pig's meat!

Jamie said...

And thats why they call it H1N1, pig, or swine flue!!!

ModestJustice said...

I hope you know that multiple exclamation marks shows that your yelling.

The deadly H1N1 virus is much different from the 'pig flu' which pigs get and transfer to one another.

I was talking about how you can't get it from the meat. High temperatures kill off viruses so just cook your meat thoroughly.

Nowhere on this blog do I say anything is fact (unless there's a link attached), it's my opinion therefore I don't have to research anything.

u know what will be very ironic is that the flu spread until egypt
the governement will be very very in the bippppppppp

i don't hope so of course but there is some risks considering that spain and france have both the flu so around the mediteranean sea...
may Allah protect us all from this illness
