Aren't you afraid of going to public places?

-wipes off running mascara-
After yesterday's emo post, today was filled with something interesting!

My family and I went out to the movies today and first stopped at a restaurant for lunch.

Yes, that restaurant and I've been there so many times in my life it seems like the senior citizens just can't get over the fact that yeah, muslim people do go out to eat once and a while.

Well, I have been wearing hijab for only a year, but that isn't the point.

As my sister and I walked towards our table, I was chatting excitedly about what movie to watch and when we sat down my sister just stared at me.

"What?"

"Aren't you afraid of going to public places?" This coming from a girl who accompanies me everywhere

I look around and notice 3 tables of people are just staring at me.

Gawking.

So I look back at her, "Am I that naive?"

She nods and goes to get a plate of food.

Great, thank you Grandma and Grandpa over there. Am I that interesting that you have to put down your fork of mashed potatoes and burn your gaze in the back of my head? I feel loved.

But it didn't matter much to me, if I'm not causing a national security crisis by stepping on my front porch I sure as hell can enjoy a meal with the family.

Besides, I'm 100% sure that one of the guys staring at me was gay anyway.

LOL... people can be a bunch of losers, no? Like really, get over it already... if you walked in with your backside hanging out of a 2 year old shorts with a napkin as a shirt, I'm SURE that would be totally acceptable.....

Oh boy, I just can't wait for those looks to come my way when I start to wear my hijab soon. I tend to stare down a person and they are usually the first to back down. Lol. My brothers gets those stares all the time, just coz he's got a beard...Ahh well there's not much we can do about it, but it does make you want to laugh though.

Take care sister and may Allah bless you!
