Has increased.
As I've said before, and that I should stick to the Qur'an and the Qur'an alone, and if need be, double-check "hadiths" with the Qur'an itself.
Now don't scream 'Blasphemy' yet. But a large number of hadiths have contradicted the Qur'an and people actually live by the hadith rather than the Qur'an, astagfurillah.
*This is my own view on how I should practice Islam so don't worry I'm not saying "GO BURN YOUR BUKHARIS, MUSLIMS AND TIRMIDHIS RIGHT NOW!"*
Speaking of which didn't one Bukhari hadith state that the Prophet Muhammad (saw) tried several times to jump off a cliff? Astagfurillah.
And I don't know why I do this -maybe to make myself feel a bit better- but why does the hadith say a man is forbidden to wear gold and silk when in the Qur'an it states:
"7:32 Say: “Who prohibited the nice things God has created for His servants and the good provisions?” Say: “They are believers in the world, and will be exclusively theirs on the day of resurrection.” That is how We explain Our signs in detail for those who understand. "
I mean really is wearing silk going to make a man less 'masculine' it's just cloth! However I do agree that using gold as utensils is plain stupid, that could be lining my grill! And was used a currency way back when.
In regards to all things masculine and feminine, since I happened to remember, I do not believe that women are half as intelligent as men. How can we believe that bull crap? Sorry nothing gets me irked like hadiths which pass as the Word of God about women being 'deficient' in intelligence.
So as you can see, I've been researching on my own (Which isn't haram!) and insha'allah made what is seen in my eyes as a correct statement. If I see something in the hadith which can be contradicted in the Qur'an what am I going to believe? The infallible word of Allah swt or fallible man?
I'll let you figure it out.
*By the way, as I have weird caution notes scattered throughout this post, I may be wrong in my views and I accept that. You may feel free to correct me -with proper Islamic adab- via Commentbox dear readers. I don't want anyone saying "Lies! Damnable lies you harpie! How dare you forsake the hadith which is as dear my first born! A'outhobillah to YOU!"
....
Yeah don't do that.
May Allah swt guide me on the right path and if I am indeed on that path then I shall hence, pat myself on the back and thank God.*
As I conclude this post on my distrust in Hadiths besides those that do not contradict the Qur'an (which leaves very few) I shall end with this comment:
Everything is halal until proven haram with proof (And I implore you to double check the 'proof' in the Qur'an, then at the last resort, logical Hadith for that is how all Fiqh is done)I'm pretty sure that is from a hadith somewhere
P.s The Bukhari book in my house is actually gathering dust because a lot of the hadiths in there do not make sense, i.e I have no need for much of the book.

salam alekium sis, im glad you've taken the interest to actually read the bukhari and muslim books. im glad too that you're not trying to convince yourse;f otherwise that you're thoughts are blasphemous, lol!! i came to the same conclusion after reading the books and became shia. my biggest problem with bukhari and muslim is that people say they are sahih, which is totally laughable in my opinion. who is sahih besides Allah swt? therefore only the Quran is perfect and we must be careful with ALL hadiths (im not saying this was my sole reason for being shia or you should be shia). its really important to trace the history of hadiths and analyze the lives of their narrators as well as the chain of narrations. may Allah swt reward your search with greater knowledge and Jannah, ameen.
I also have quite a lot of distrust for the hadiths. I think they are useful for historical purposes, but not as an addition or replacement to the Qur'an! It can be useful to study them to try to better understand the Qur'an, but I don't think they are to be taken as definite truth. They were collected by human beings and nothing says they were divinely preserved. I think that if Muhammad allegedly did something, or even actually did it (who really knows if it's fully reliable?), if there is nothing about it in the Qur'an, it's just an interesting tid-bit, it's not a law. If someone takes it as law, it's idolatry. They are associating to God something that simply did not come from God. I think some people need to be careful, it's not a sin they want to have on themselves, I think!
M.J: Wa Alaikum wa salam :]
Wait, so to be a sunni you have to believe in the hadiths? No wonder. And I agree, no one is sahih but Allah swt and most hadiths have 5 or more narrators that link back to the Prophet saw
and thank you for your du'a ameen
Candice: It does have some great short stories but I agree nothing that should overrule or add to our perfect deen. Stop the madness!
Yeah, I often wonder about hadiths...I haven't quite decided where I stand as I haven't read it all myself.
If you do not accept hadiths, then how do you know how to pray. Qur'an doesn't contain that, it only tells you when. What about the actions of hajj? Are they describled in Qur'an? no.
Meena: It really is a tough decision considering most of what we know, or were taught comes from ahadith, sadly.
Suraya: Asalamu Alaikum,
I've never stated that I did not accept hadiths :] I do not readily accept hadiths without proof [i.e making sure it does not go against the Holy Qur'an] For example, if for prayer the hadith said to pray at a different time than prescribed in the Qur'an which would you choose? I haven't burned my books yet, I've just decided to be a bit more cautious when reading them. Don't worry, I still pray as I have been taught from the 'hadiths'. Thank for asking.

I've wanted to ask my Shi'a friend more about her own beliefs than what other says. But I do find some 'rituals' to have a lot of bid'ah in them.
